Jane Gordon, FNP joins Rangeley Family Medicine

RANGELEY—Please join Rangeley Family Medicine staff in welcoming Jane Gordon to our health center. Jane originally began offering medical care in April as a temporary provider, but has made the decision to fulfill the role on a long-term basis. Jane obtained her undergraduate nursing degree at Winona State University, MN in 1978 and Master of Science in Nursing—family nurse practitioner degree at St. Louis University, MO in 2006. Her areas of expertise include bioidentical hormones/hormonal balancing, integrative medicine, pediatrics, infectious diseases including Lyme Disease, holistic medicine and lifestyle medicine.

Jane recently shared her reasons for staying in Rangeley and practicing at the health center. “I have practiced in rural health as a nurse practitioner for 13 years and as a registered nurse for 25 years. I love what I do! I have been married 36 years to my 'Knight in Shining Armor' and we have adopted 10 children from the US, Brazil, and Mexico, ages 31-10, with three little girls still at home. I love kayaking, hiking, riding ATVs, worshiping God in keyboard and song, drama, Nordic skiing, home designing, wedding planning, reading and counseling.”

She continued, “I came to Rangeley as a locum provider having heard how beautiful and amazing Maine was. Our practice manager was eloquent about the stunning mountain lake grandeur of the Rangeley area. I came for four months and found all that she said to be true. I committed to another four months during which time my whole family and I fell in love with this little 'Brigadoon'; the people, our church, the clinic, the mountains, the lakes, the seasons; all fit us like a glove. We felt loved, wanted, needed here. We felt like we belonged here. So we've decided to stay forever, or until we become abominable snowmen!”

In the health center, Jane works alongside Diane Zavostky, MD and Angela Kristoff, LCSW, who offers behavioral health services. 1,400 residents of Dallas and Lincoln Plantations, Madrid, Magalloway, Rangeley, Sandy River and adjacent locations obtain care at the health center each year.
